Somewear: Sail to Sable!

My girlfriend who used to work at Lucky mag with me just started a new business called Sail to Sable. Raised by the water in Darien, Connecticut, she grew up visiting the beaches down the East Coast which is perfect, because Sail to Sable refers to the Easternmost and Southernmost spots on the Eastern Seaboard: Sail Rock, Maine and Cape Sable, Florida. Her collection includes tunics, placemats, napkins and pillows- all can be mixed and matched and are perfect for summer!  This adorable tunic (along with “Lively Lime”) are all on sale now in celebration of the holiday.  Just enter JULY4 at checkout!  Now, go shopping and have a safe and happy 4th!!

Somewear: Beating The Heat

Well, I’m somewhat surviving the bike ride.  My legs sort of feel like jelly and I have two more days to go, so who knows if I’ll actually see the finish line. Since it’s a week long ride and camp-out, there doesn’t leave much room for life within the civilized chambers of an air conditioned room, so in preparation of this, I brought really light-weight loose-fitting clothes for any of the post biking activities that might occur, let's say maybe.... watching OKC Beat the Heat!!!!

Somewear: 5th Year Anniversary Dinner, Imago

I actually can’t believe I got married 5 years ago.  I feel like that number makes everything so official!  No better place to celebrate than at a romantic dinner in Rome. Sitting on top of the Spanish Steps overlooking the city, Imago restaurant is known for having one of the best views in town.  I can’t wait to sit down on our last night in Italy, reminisce on the past 5 years of marriage, and eat like a Roman king!  Well, you know what they say… when in Rome!!

Somewear: Wine Tour Through Tuscany

We stayed in Lucca last night and this morning we’re being picked up by a local tour company for a wine tasting day throughout the Tuscany region!  It will be cooler in the morning then should warm up in the afternoon, so layers are essential.  Also, as I’ve said before, a few tastes can equal a few glasses, so flat sandals and berry colored tones can help ease any spills that may occur.

Somewear: Botanical Garden Wedding

This weekend I’m going to my cousin’s wedding in Nashville.  It’s at the  Cheekwood Botanical Garden.  I always love a good garden wedding- makes me wanna put a big flower in my hair and sip on a glass of rosé!  Can’t wait!

Villa Borghese Gardens, Rome

The Villa Borghese Gardens is another destination I will be traveling to in just a few weeks.  It’s one of the largest public parks in Rome and has a number of buildings, museums, and attractions in which you can visit while you are there.  It’s 148 acres of beauty, so I’m going to need a camera and some comfy shoes!

Spring Time in Central Park

Spring time is here!  And I know for certain that flowers have been a bloomin’ for a few weeks now in Central Park.  I wish it was on my list of “to-do’s” for the day, because taking a stroll through CP during this time of year is absolute perfection.

Somewear: Outdoor Concert

I’m going to an outdoor concert tonight to see the Spazmatics.  The weather is great in Dallas right now, but the nights can get a bit chilly, so I’ll need to come prepared with a jacket just incase.  I love a good maxi for a casual evening outside!

Somewear: Bullfight Ring in Madrid

My girlfriend is in Spain now!  I’m very jealous- wish I was watching a bullfight!  Since she’ll be watching it in an outdoor ring, I suggest she dress in comfortable, yet adorable layers.  When on vaca I can't resist a fun romper.  They're so easy to pack!

Somewear: “The Office” in Cabo

In Cabo there is a go-to dinner spot on the beach called “The Office.”  Every Thursday night there is a “Gran Fiesta Mexicana” with traditional music and folk dance performances.  It’s best to keep the dinner look “coastal casual” with cool blues and greens.  Since we'll be dining on the sand, I'm going to wear flats.  Plus, it will be easier for dancing under the stars!

Somewear: Last Minute Flight to Cabo!

Somewear: Last Minute Flight to Cabo!
Once every so often in your life, you may be asked to hop a last minute flight to Cabo.  When asked this question, try your hardest to not just answer yes, but hell yes!  Listen, I get it.  You have a “baby”, a “job”, a dog, and a husband to take care of, but sometimes you just need to forget about all those things and go with what sounds like a freakin’ blast!  Ok, ok- I jest (kinda).  However, in all truth, I’m doing this tomorrow and this is what I’ll be wearing while I’m doing it! #dealwithit #livethemoment

Persian Rodeo

Tomorrow I’m going to a Persian Rodeo themed party.  Women are supposed to dress like "The Real Housewives of Tehran" and men like "Iran’s Next Camel Jockey".  Random idea for a party?  Listen- just go with it.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

It is the first day of fashion week!  I can’t wait to see what is in store for us for Spring 2012!  To me, fall’s fashion week is the first time to really sport the trends of the season. Crisp blouses, clean cut color-blocking, dots, tassles, and snakeskins- you need to just work it all in!  And, if you can’t make the shows- check the live feeds out here! Today’s streams: Nicholas K, BCBG, Richard Chai, and Tadashi Shoji

VIP Tents at the Santa Barbara Polo Club

My girlfriend, Betsy, will be working as a vendor in the tents this weekend, selling new and vintage designer jewelry.  She needs to look sharp and stylish, but somewhat basic in order to model various jewelry pieces throughout the day.  I love the color red, because it not only looks great with her hair, but with any type of jewelry she’s bound to put on.

Port Stop in Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been and I’m jealous to report that my friend, Amanda, will be traveling there this week on her cruise through the Mediterranean.  It’s essential to bring your best camera here, as the view from every angle is exquisite.

American Cancer Society Fundraiser on the Soho House Rooftop

My girlfriend, Mia, is attending an event for the American Cancer Society tomorrow evening, but she’ll be coming straight from work, so she needs something that’s appropriate for day and night. Besides the clutch (which she can simply just throw in a tote), this whole outfit will work seamlessly.  It’ll take her from business meetings in the office to evening cocktails by the pool. It’s sophisticated, yet sexy- just like Mia!

Somewear: Shopping the Brooklyn Outdoor Flea Market

Every one of these pieces are somewhat vintage inspired, which is why I thought they were fitting for a flea market shopping excursion to the outer borough.  Plus, the outfit is comfy and cool for a day of trekking around outside.

Somewear: Dinner with Girlfriends on the Lower East Side

I’m in New York this week for a wedding.  I haven’t been back in two months, so I am anxious to come back to visit.  Tonight I’m having dinner at the new Beauty & Essex with a few of my girlfriends.  I need to wear something cute to see them, but it doesn’t need to be over the top.  Right now, I’m really into a good one-shoulder number, so this dress will be perfect!  I can’t wait to see them all!
