Bar Exam

My husband has to retake the bar exam this week (long story short- no reciprocity from NY to Texas).  Now, don’t worry- he’s not actually wearing this outfit.  This is just what I would have worn had it been me taking the bar this week. Of course, I’d go with super comfy clothes, but I would also want to make sure I dressed in layers.  You never know how cold or hot it might be in there and it’s a long day, so you would need to come prepared.  Also- depending on the circulation in the room, your skin could get really dry, so I’d make sure to hydrate with water and some kind of special chap stick.  Lastly (and maybe most importantly), since I know nothing about the law, I would definitely need some kind of lucky charm with me/ answers from God to get me through the three gruesome test days.  Glad I’m not in his shoes!  Best of luck- honey!

Where to Wear: Printed Wide Leg Pants

This can be a tricky trend to pull off, but with so many styles out there right now, you’re sure to find the one that is right for you.  Just make sure you know what looks best for your body: high-waisted, drawstring, more of a harem look, bigger prints, tiny florals, neons or monochromatic prints.  The list can go on and on, but you get the gist.  These pants are really fun, because they can work for day or night; they can go casual or dressy!  Having just come back from LA, I still have The City of Angels on my mind.  I keep imagining what if I’d only been allowed to pack these type of pants for my trip to LA.  Would I have been able to make them work for me every day and still look stellar everywhere I went?  The answer is YES!
  1. Browsing the Farmer’s Market: River Island, Sheer Floral Palazzo Pants, $62.65
  2. Shopping at the Grove: Clover Canyon, Folk Stripe Pants, $202
  3. Bar Hopping on the Sunset Strip: Anthropologie, Blurred Dahlia Wide Legs, $98
  4. Catching a Flight out of LAX: Georgie, St. Barts Pants, $265
  5. Eating Dinner in West Hollywood: Robert Rodriguez, Stained Glass Stripe Trousers, $365

Pre-Thanksgiving Day Kitchen Prep!

It’s time to start baking and prepping for the big feast.  Now just because you’re going to be in the kitchen all day doesn’t mean you can’t look adorable.  I’m obsessed with the Anthro aprons, mits, and pot holders.  You can’t go wrong with any of them.  Spin your hair into a quick bun, throw on a soft tunic, and make sure to clean your hands, because it’s gonna get dirty!  Happy cooking!

Ten Year High School Reunion

I had a recent request from a follower who asked what to wear to an upcoming high school reunion.  She needed a “business casual” ensemble, which to me means a slightly conservative outfit, but something that doesn’t lack in cuteness and sexiness.  Also, make sure you look as young as you did 10 years ago.  To do that, use some really great eye repair cream 6-8 weeks prior, no joke- it will really work!
