I’m at that age now where I’m getting more baby shower invites than wedding ones.  Ok by me; I don’t mind a good mid-day mimosa and afternoon game of “Baby Bingo.”  This past weekend I went to two showers- one for a girl and one for a boy.  I sort of think it’s fun to dress the gender when attending one of these baby bashes.  For a girl shower I say go super frilly and feminine!

My girlfriend recently got engaged atop a mountain in France.  I know- such a blasé location, right?  Anyway, it got me thinking that you can’t always predict where and when you’re going to get engaged and more importantly (for this story, anyway) what you’ll be wearing.

Somewear: “Bubbly Q”

Tonight I will be attending YTAC’s annual fundraising party “Bubbly Q”.  This will be my second time to attend since moving to Dallas!  All proceeds from the event will benefit YTAC’s 2012 beneficiaries: Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center, UT Southwestern Simmons Cancer Center, Baylor Hospital Sammons Cancer Center, and Parkland Foundation. I just spent some time in my old stomping grounds, NYC (hence my disappearance from STB last week).  While I was there I went to a few Broadway shows including one matinee performance.  Now, I realize dressing up for a matinee doesn’t have to be all stilettos and sequins, but I was appalled to see so many people sporting ripped up jeans and oversized tees.  Maybe I’m old school, but I was raised to always dress up for the theatre.  Even if it’s a daytime show, it can’t just be me and all the blue hairs keeping it classy- people!

Well, I’m somewhat surviving the bike ride.  My legs sort of feel like jelly and I have two more days to go, so who knows if I’ll actually see the finish line. Villa Borghese Gardens, Rome
