Somewear: “Bubbly Q”

Tonight I will be attending YTAC’s annual fundraising party “Bubbly Q”.  This will be my second time to attend since moving to Dallas!  All proceeds from the event will benefit YTAC’s 2012 beneficiaries: Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center, UT Southwestern Simmons Cancer Center, Baylor Hospital Sammons Cancer Center, and Parkland Foundation. If you live in Texas and want to get involved in a YTAC chapter near you, check out their website for more information.

Sadly, the event is sold out tonight, but this outfit sure isn’t.  It’s perfect for any night out this fall!

Somewear: Chicago (The Musical) at The Winspear Theatre

Going to see an oldie, but a goodie tonight.  Chicago’s in Dallas!  Of course, you know that I’ll be dressing up for the show- jeans just aren’t meant for the theatre.

If you’re in the Dallas area:
the show is running from now until the 26th of August, so hurry before it’s gone! Tickets here!

If you aren’t in the Dallas area: go see a show, anyway!  The theatre is good for your soul.  Also, it gives you an excuse to look fabulous.  Though I’m sure if you follow STB, you already do ;)

Spring Time in Central Park

Spring time is here!  And I know for certain that flowers have been a bloomin’ for a few weeks now in Central Park.  I wish it was on my list of “to-do’s” for the day, because taking a stroll through CP during this time of year is absolute perfection.

At Home Gift Wrapping Station

Somewear: At Home Gift Wrapping Station
Everyone has a home wrapping station, right?  I mean, I’ve pinned enough craft rooms on Pinterest to make me think so.  If Bieber and Usher haven’t serenaded you yet with their sultry rendition of “The Christmas Song” then you probably haven’t felt the true magic of Christmas this year.  You might want to get on that.

Somewear: Firm Christmas Party

My husband’s firm’s Christmas party is this weekend and I need a little sequins number.  I mean, what are the holidays without some sparkle?  These colors combined make a dramatic statement, but they are not so dramatic that they steal focus.  (It is technically my husband’s party after all.  I just hope to be his best looking accessory!)

Somewear: Couples Baby Shower for a New Adoption!

Somewear: Couples Baby Shower for a New Adoption!
My girlfriend called last night about what to wear to her baby shower that her college friends are throwing for her.  Since she is adopting, she doesn’t have to worry about finding cute maternity clothes.  With it being a couples shower held at her friend’s home, I told her she doesn’t need to go too dressy.  Wearing a cute top, skinny pants, and boots would be perfect.  She is not a super girly dresser, so I went with a nice mix of feminine and masculine.  I love the frilly lace top mixed with the riding boots and cross-body bag.

Persian Rodeo

Tomorrow I’m going to a Persian Rodeo themed party.  Women are supposed to dress like "The Real Housewives of Tehran" and men like "Iran’s Next Camel Jockey".  Random idea for a party?  Listen- just go with it.

Man Repelling the Internet!

BONUS!  Two posts in one day, but I just couldn’t help it, because when I found out about the amazing jewelry collab between DANNIJO and Man Repeller I was just inspired to create another outfit.  This one goes out to all the ladies that are MR’ing it online today!

Rehearsal Dinner to Private Robert Earl Keen Concert

My girlfriend, Daniella, gave me quite the interesting task last week: to find a dress that
would be appropriate to wear to a fancy rehearsal dinner, but would also pair well with cowboy boots
for a private late night Robert Earl Keen concert.  I’m not what you would call a “country girl”, so
don’t even think for one second that I knew who Robert Earl Keen was or that I had any idea on how
to pair an adorably chic party dress with clunky, thick heeled cowboy boots.  However, after some
extensive research online and some folk-style serenading from my aunt and cousin I quickly got up to
speed and found the perfect ensemble for my girlfriend’s jam packed, yet fun-filled evening!

Somewear: Sunset Cocktails on the Rooftop

I found this old picture of NY on someone’s blog and I just couldn’t help, but wish I was on this rooftop, sipping on a spritzer and watching the sunset.  Oh, summertime bliss in the city- how I love you!

Somewear: Sunday Brunch at the Sandy Lane Resort

I’ve decided to continue living vicariously through Katie today.  She’s staying at the Sandy Lane Resort in Barbados and one of the restaurants there, the Bajan Blue, is known for its delicious Sunday brunch.  No doubt Katie will be there this Sunday and I can only imagine what she’ll be wearing at this dreamy locale!  My husband always makes fun of me, because I’m the only person he knows who accessorizes more on vacation than at home.  But why would you ever miss an opportunity to look absolutely fabulous in such a picturesque place!

Somewear: Gallery Opening for the Newest Dali Exhibition

I just received an invite to attend this opening, but unfortunately won’t be able to make it.  If I were to be there, though, I would want to be wearing these stunning statement pieces!  Fashion is just another form of art and expression, which is perhaps what I love best about it.  And what better way to express my love for Dali and the contemporary art world than with a dress like this! If you are in NY on the 23rd and want to attend this guaranteed to be amazing exhibit, RSVP here!

Somewear: Webby Awards at Hammerstein Ballroom

The Gregory Brothers will be receiving an award on Monday, June 13th and Sarah needs appropriate evening attire that’s fabulous enough to accept an award in, yet comfortable enough to last her through the night.  Sarah always looks fabulous in a low cut plunge and this mirror covered maxi seems almost dreamy enough to sleep in, so it should be perfect!  Plus, low heels will make walking up to the stage very stress free.  Can’t wait to watch her live streamed to the whole world next week!

Somewear: Bonnaroo with The Gregory Brothers

The beautiful and extremely talented Sarah Gregory will be performing next week at Bonnaroo, the 4 day music camping festival hosted on a 700-acre farm in Tennessee. (AKA- the modern day Woodstock.)  I wanted to give her a look that was casual, but fun and something that would keep her cool in the sticky summer heat.  When attending one of these outdoor concerts, you can’t help but dress with a bit of hippie influence, though I think the rosy lips will really separate her from the rest.  Not only will they pop on stage, but the girl looks absolutely stunning in a bright cherry red!

Somewear: The Mall’s Museums, Monuments, and Memorials

The Mall in DC can make for a long day on your feet, so you want to dress comfortably.  I love experimenting with colors in the same palette: red, orange, pink.  To me, it’s an easier way to step into the new color blocking trend, without going to extreme.

Somewear: Lakeside Dinner with Friends

As Memorial Day quickly approaches, I can’t help but think of the fun festivities that will be
going on all across America.  This spot seems like somewhere I’d love to be; it’s simple, but
sublime.  The teals, earthy tones, and stones on the shoes are all reminiscent of the lake.  And I
couldn’t resist how perfectly these earrings matched the Moroccon inspired motif of the romper!
Bring out the beautiful purples in the print with a pop of color to the nails.  My sis and I both
love the one bangle look, so why not finish it off with this one, appropriately called “Make
Waves."

Somewear: Pop-Up Baby Shower at The Ivy

My girlfriend, Libby, is throwing a surprise baby shower at a brunch
today with her girlfriends in LA.  Though I won’t be there, this is
what I imagine she’ll be wearing when she dines alfresco within the
white picket fences and oversized umbrellas of the ever-popular Ivy
restaurant.  It needed to be a laid-back ensemble; it is LA after all.
And short shorts are Libby’s casual go-to.  I love the pop of bright
pink mixed into an otherwise pale colored palette and the lace and
bow accents are just an understated reminder that a baby is on the
way!  What’s hidden inside the oversized tote: balloons, confetti, and
special treats for the mom-to-be.  What a divine look for such a sweet
celebration and not a bad way to meet The Divine either.  Who
knows- he may be seated next to them right now!  (The Ivy’s just that
good).

Somewear: Birthday Party Picnic

So, you’re a little overdressed to really frolic in the park, but listen-
you’re the birthday girl, so dressing down is out of the question.  But
you’re not completely impractical: a hat for the shade and flats for
the grass.  Plus, I’m sure you’ll be offered the VIP luggage seats,
anyway.
