Somewear: Casa Mila Rooftop in Barcelona

My girlfriend will be traveling to Spain in April, so over the next couple of weeks I’m going to create a few looks for her trip!  One spot in Barcelona that she can’t miss is architect Antoni Gaudi’s famous building, Casa Mila.  The entire structure is exquisite, but the architecture and artistry on the rooftop is my absolute favorite part.  I’d suggest taking a cardi incase it’s cold in the morning, then warms up in the afternoon.  A low wedge and sunnies are also perfect for this type of sightseeing day!

Somewear: Dinner at Salt House in San Francisco

My girlfriend’s flying to San Fran tomorrow from NY.  She wants to fit in with Cali’s cool laid back vibe, but still look chic for a dinner out on the town.  I suggested a breezy blouse and skinny jeans (a go-to for me when I want to look effortless, but put together).  She should go low key on the jewelry- nothing too glitzy.  And wedge booties always look adorable, but not too done up!  Now, I’ve never been to Salt House, but I checked out the menu.  Could someone try the Veal Sweetbreads and report back to me?  Thanks!

Somewear: Christmas Cookie Swap

My aunt is throwing a cookie swap party this weekend and I’m bringing two delicious looking ones which I found on Pinterest (obvi).  I’ll be making them ahead of time, so no need to worry about getting my festive attire dirty.  If you’re attending one this year, I suggest bringing your cookies on a festive plate which you can leave for the host!

Orchestra Seats to RENT Off-Broadway

I’m so pumped to see one of my oldest and dearest friends perform tonight in the cast of RENT!  I’m a strong believer in dressing up for the theatre, even if it is to see a grungy rock musical set in the early 90’s.  I’m doing a slight nod to the era, but with more studs and stilettos and less real grunge.

Rebecca Minkoff Show to US Open Men’s Finals

In a dream world, I would be able to attend both of these events today.  And since this is my fantasy, the cost of this entire number goes out the window.  I think it’s nice when attending shows to wear the designer.  This is chic enough for the RM show, but comfy and casual enough to take me straight to the Nadal/Djokovic match!

Rehearsal Dinner to Private Robert Earl Keen Concert

My girlfriend, Daniella, gave me quite the interesting task last week: to find a dress that
would be appropriate to wear to a fancy rehearsal dinner, but would also pair well with cowboy boots
for a private late night Robert Earl Keen concert.  I’m not what you would call a “country girl”, so
don’t even think for one second that I knew who Robert Earl Keen was or that I had any idea on how
to pair an adorably chic party dress with clunky, thick heeled cowboy boots.  However, after some
extensive research online and some folk-style serenading from my aunt and cousin I quickly got up to
speed and found the perfect ensemble for my girlfriend’s jam packed, yet fun-filled evening!

Somewear: Engagement Pics on Top of The High Line

My girlfriend, Katie, is getting her engagement pictures taken this week.  I like this outfit for her, because it is super feminine and classic.  You don’t want to wear something too trendy, because these photos are going on your walls for years to come.  Solids and neutrals are usually safest, and I just couldn’t resist the bride-to-be “I do” necklace- so adorable!

Somewear: Sunset Cocktails on the Rooftop

I found this old picture of NY on someone’s blog and I just couldn’t help, but wish I was on this rooftop, sipping on a spritzer and watching the sunset.  Oh, summertime bliss in the city- how I love you!

Somewear: Switzerland Mountain Farm

Not sure what kind of “farming” is done on this mountainous wonderland, but I want to go to there.  Not to be a farmhand, obviously, but perhaps to just picnic nearby, eating Swiss cheese and chocolate.

Somewear: Romantic Dinner at Anacaona

My husband and I are traveling to Turks & Caicos this week and the resort we are staying at has one of the dreamiest restaurants that I have ever seen. The dress code is “Resort Elegance” which I really feel like I can nail with this exquisite floral maxi, crystal flats, and ocean inspired jewelry.

Somewear: Matinee to See “Anything Goes”

The loose draping of this dress slightly reminds me of the fashion worn in the 1930’s, and since Anything Goes takes place during that time period, I feel like it’s an appropriate fit for seeing the show today.  I always dress up for the theatre and believe that everyone else should do the same!

Somewear: Bridal Brunch at the Boat House in NYC

My girlfriend, Libby, is hosting a bridal shower for one of her best friends, Katie.  After hearing many details about the event, I know how incredible it’s going to be.  Not only is the Boat House a magical oasis in NY’s Central Park, but Katie and all of her girlfriends are very stylish ladies, so it’s going to be quite the spectacle!  I can’t wait to stalk the pics later on Facebook!

Somewear: First Anniversary Dinner

Thrilled to announce my sister and her husband made it through their first year as a married couple!  They are in Dallas this week to celebrate and tonight they will be going out for a special anniversary
dinner.  This look is so sweet and the colors are very romantic, which is why it’s so fitting for this special evening.  I, of course, couldn’t resist the sentimental heart necklace!  Hugs and kisses, XOXO, and all that mushy stuff!

Somewear: Bonnaroo with The Gregory Brothers

The beautiful and extremely talented Sarah Gregory will be performing next week at Bonnaroo, the 4 day music camping festival hosted on a 700-acre farm in Tennessee. (AKA- the modern day Woodstock.)  I wanted to give her a look that was casual, but fun and something that would keep her cool in the sticky summer heat.  When attending one of these outdoor concerts, you can’t help but dress with a bit of hippie influence, though I think the rosy lips will really separate her from the rest.  Not only will they pop on stage, but the girl looks absolutely stunning in a bright cherry red!

Calm and Collected, IndigoStrapless Dress, $39
Day Birger Et Mikkelsen, Nagas Necklace, $180
Urban Outfitters, Renewal VintagePlastic Bangle Bracelets, $18

Somewear: Covert Business Deal at The Dome

Not sure who has seen the Hangover 2, yet, but many scenes were filmed at The Dome in
the Lebua hotel in Bangkok.  I’ve never been, but it’s now a MUST on my list of vaca hot
spots.  I love the outfit’s subtle Asian influence with the kimono cut dress and bamboo
detailed clutch.  It’s “Rooftop Glam” without being over the top.

Somewear: Patriotic Picnic in the Park

This is all kinds of fun and festive for the upcoming holiday weekend.  I would tuck in the top to
really show off the adorable pleated shorts.  And the retro red sunnies tie the whole look together!

Somewear: Pop-Up Baby Shower at The Ivy

My girlfriend, Libby, is throwing a surprise baby shower at a brunch
today with her girlfriends in LA.  Though I won’t be there, this is
what I imagine she’ll be wearing when she dines alfresco within the
white picket fences and oversized umbrellas of the ever-popular Ivy
restaurant.  It needed to be a laid-back ensemble; it is LA after all.
And short shorts are Libby’s casual go-to.  I love the pop of bright
pink mixed into an otherwise pale colored palette and the lace and
bow accents are just an understated reminder that a baby is on the
way!  What’s hidden inside the oversized tote: balloons, confetti, and
special treats for the mom-to-be.  What a divine look for such a sweet
celebration and not a bad way to meet The Divine either.  Who
knows- he may be seated next to them right now!  (The Ivy’s just that
good).
