Fashion Cents: Baby Shower

Fashion Cents: Baby Shower
My sis-in-law is having her baby shower this weekend.  And if you know her, then you know nothing would be more appropriate to sport to her shower than pink (her baby girl’s soon-to-be favorite color) and sequin animal print (my sis-in-law’s favorite color).  Plus, with as much money as I’m saving on this outfit I can afford to spend more on a fabulous baby gift.  Can’t believe in just a few short months, I’m going to be an aunt!

Somewear: Pumpkin Patch

Well, if I do an apple picking outfit you know I’m bound to do a pumpkin picking outfit, as well!  I’m loving this mix of mustard with different shades of blue and green!  It’s unexpected, fun, and perfect for fall!

Somewear: Monday Night Football

Nothing screams “FALL IS HERE” like crisp breezy weather, a lightweight cashmere pullover, a warm & chunky chili, a seasonal Oktoberfest beer, and of course, a Monday Night Football game!  Tonight the Cowboys are playing the Bears.  I’ll be having people over for chili and beer and possibly wearing an outfit similar to this one.  What will you be sporting?

Nifty Shades of Grey

Where to Wear: Nifty Shades of Grey
I’m predicting this best-seller from E.L. James will bring about a new kind of life to the color grey similar to what the movie “Sideways” did for Pinot Noir wines everywhere.  Of course, I haven’t actually read the book, but I’m assuming it’s about a fashion designers obsession with monochromatic colors.  No?

Texas Rodeo

I had a very STB moment this weekend, so I thought I’d share it with you today.  I went to a RODEO (and yes, yes it was my first).  And though, it wasn’t really my scene and I was definitely stepping out of my fashion comfort zone, I decided to embrace it.  I wore a denim dress and boots, and even though I felt like I was “playing dress up” I didn’t look like I was.  You know what they say- when in Rome… (or Texas)… whatever.

What to Wear When: It Feels Like Summer, but You’re Ready for Fall

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for fall.  I want to start layering and wearing deep purples, blues, and mauves.  However, it’s 110 degrees still, so that is just not in the cards for me right now.  I need to get creative.  This dress is great, because it is cotton, so it will keep me cool, but the colors perfectly border the summer and fall line.  Peep-toe booties are also a great combo for in between seasons, and light grey nail polish is THE neutral color that can work with anything you’re wearing no matter what month you’re wearing it in.
